[Sometimes, the Time Bureau needs some interagency cooperation.
They don't like it, because honestly the Legends will just smash through most problems anyway, but given the fact that the Captain America has just ... disappeared from history as a whole and that's a massive problem.
Also because a SHIELD agent is the one who brought them the tip. No one knows how Daisy Johnson found out about the Time Bureau and no one knows why she remembers this alternate timeline where there was home grown super serumed American hero that wasn't Nate's grandfather and no one else does, but when Gideon confirms the anachronism, they have work to do.
Nate and Zari get assigned the case, and Zari doesn't look impressed about this guy they're supposedly going to be saving.]
So. Tell us about this Captain America guy.
[It's ... probably for the best Zari doesn't remember Cap right now, because odds are ten to one that ARGUS used him for propoganda in the future without his permission but that's a hurdle to hop over another time.]

[ it's — bizarre, to say the least, that no one remembers steve rogers. he's captain america. his picture is (was?) on lunch boxes, t-shirts, action figures. hell, he had his own off-brand of ladies' intimate wear — more than one, probably. daisy can't fathom how some weird time quirk would have wiped him out so quickly, but ... well, she also hadn't considered time travel to be a real thing either, and she's recently off a future-in-space bender now, so she's trying to be more open-minded these days.
even if it does mean drinking "commander steel" branded beer instead of cap's famous lager and hating it. it might be good, but it's just wrong. ]
He's — I don't know. Truth, justice, the American way? [ technically, that's superman, but it works here. she's sticking with it. ] Little guy from Brooklyn, got superserumed up by some doctor during the war, turned into a hero — then they froze him for god knows how long, and brought him back to save the world again?
[ she shrugs. how does one describe captain america? ]
He's a friend. [ coworker. in the way that the president and the mailman are coworkers, in that they both work for the us government. she's never actually met him. ] It's important.
